Music for this Friday’s Reading.

Often, I list jobs that are outside the normal K-12 space.

Today, I will share a few jobs that educators are qualified for, but I want to stress that the strategy to find these jobs is well within your grasp.

I would say sometimes these positions are easy to find, but they will move fast. Unlike a school with weird layers of interviews, if you apply for a job outside of K-12, the company will want you to start within 2-4 weeks (if not sooner).

Common Job Titles You Might Not Know About

One of the toughest things to know is where you fit in based on a job title. No one wants to read all of the options only to find that they are not qualified. A good job title should influence your decision to dive in and explore the details.

Here are some common non-K12 jobs you will see on your journey onto a new career path:

  • Project Manager
Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of projects. Coordinates teams, resources, and timelines to meet goals on time and within budget.

  • Procurement Intern
Supports the purchasing team by assisting with supplier communications, data entry, and research. Gains hands-on experience in supply chain and procurement processes.

  • Commissions Analyst
Calculates and processes sales commissions for staff. Ensures payouts align with compensation plans and investigates discrepancies.
