Friday Feature: Jobs Outside of Academia
Thinking About Making a Change? Maybe this can Help :)
Music for this Friday’s Reading.
Often, I list jobs that are outside the normal K-12 space.
Today, I will share a few jobs that educators are qualified for, but I want to stress that the strategy to find these jobs is well within your grasp.
I would say sometimes these positions are easy to find, but they will move fast. Unlike a school with weird layers of interviews, if you apply for a job outside of K-12, the company will want you to start within 2-4 weeks (if not sooner).
Common Job Titles You Might Not Know About
One of the toughest things to know is where you fit in based on a job title. No one wants to read all of the options only to find that they are not qualified. A good job title should influence your decision to dive in and explore the details.
Here are some common non-K12 jobs you will see on your journey onto a new career path:
Project Manager
Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of projects. Coordinates teams, resources, and timelines to meet goals on time and within budget.Procurement Intern
Supports the purchasing team by assisting with supplier communications, data entry, and research. Gains hands-on experience in supply chain and procurement processes.Commissions Analyst
Calculates and processes sales commissions for staff. Ensures payouts align with compensation plans and investigates discrepancies.
