Subscribers - you should know this never goes out to social media any longer. If you think your friends, colleagues, or mortal enemies may benefit from this newsletter, please share it with them.
Job postings are still fairly limited. Most of the jobs I see daily are still for immediate starts. I avoid those unless a friend sends me the information.
I have a feeling that many schools are going old-school this season. Here is my advice: sign-up for job fairs.
I am sure there are some easy virtual ones, but I mean plan to go to actual job fairs if you are serious.
Post SARSCVD it seems many people are burnt out on “virtual” everything. Also, it is possible that the recruitment during the last two years yielded some decisions that turned out poorly for everyone involved. Hopefully, all parties will remember that it was a risk for everyone relocating during a pandemic.
After helping two campuses build out online learning platforms, protocols, and dozens of niche solutions I can attest to the fact that people seem to react negatively to hybrid learning, online learning, and everything associated with those terms.
Why wouldn’t that apply to administrators who want to travel, network with other schools, meet people in person, and have all the advantages of in-person recruitment?
Take that for what it’s worth.
A Note on China-
If you want a grand opportunity, and you are willing to take the risk, sign-up with Schrole ($75.00) and take an admin job in China. I cannot list jobs posted in paid databases. However, Schrole is cheap. They have a good interface and jobs are stacking up. These are good schools and they need (seemingly) every position. If you are a teacher and want to move up and really increase your earning potential now is the time.
And…
Every job is from a public or open search or LinkedIn.

Ending Note: I have been tracking the job recruitment drama of a regular LinkedIn poster. This person has been looking for a job for 4 years and has not had any luck. Looking over their messages it seems they use the same strategies all the time. If you keep failing while following the same patterns, change the patterns. Start over. Clean the slate. Reset your photos, CV, and delete all social media posts with negativity (or just make your life private). I sent this person a few jobs directly. But, these jobs all had “problems” and they wouldn’t even consider the opportunities. This person is an extreme case, but they are a great example of being caught in a loop. That is a choice, not a circumstance.
Most social media is dead to me, but you can find me on LinkedIn and Youtube.
