The Friday Feature: Air Miles Awesomeness
Travel for Free, Get Free Hotels, or Just Have a Better Trip
Most expats enjoy some form of annual flight reimbursement or they receive free tickets.
Many years ago, an expat friend, taught me how to use the flight policy from my employer to earn air miles (that I did not pay for) and then use those miles to offset other expenses.
I am not advising you to be deceptive. To be clear, I always worked within the reimbursement policy.
I enjoyed free hotels, business and first-class flights from the USA to Asia, consistent lounge access, and many free regional flights (think Seoul to Jeju or Dubai to Cyprus).
This is not that hard and takes one summer of travel to build up without any cash upfront.
Let’s get into it.
