Subscribers,
I hope your summer has been good. We will kick things off soon, although I've gone from a normal level of work to an insurmountable level of work in less than a week.
School Admin in the USA are often on 12 month contracts. My time off usually comes in the fall or winter.
I've generally stopped giving people advice, but this year I'm going to do my best to try and limit job postings for countries that have zero savings potential. I'm not sure if that's advice by omission or not, but I'm going to try.
I've been shocked reading through online groups related to personal savings and finance.
With expenses on the rise, the willingness to wear multiple hats will be a benefit and likely draw a higher salary (because the cost of multiple people is usually higher than a well paid single employee doing more than one job).
More to come, I just wanted to start waking everyone up.
Enjoy July. Talk to you in August.
Hi Tony, long time fan of the pancake. I’ve been happily surprised to have saved money in every single country that I’ve lived in - even expensive places like Oman, and places with low salaries like Mexico. In the end, it’s really up to each person to budget and save what they can for retirement, especially if they end up working internationally their entire career without a pension waits for them. And I strongly believe it’s doable in just about any country.
