Today we will work on preparing

to ask for a raise during a high-pressure recruitment situation.

What is high-pressure?

  • At a job fair

  • Face-to-face

  • Video interview where you were not expecting a verbal offer

  • An email with a timer to accept

  • On a weird Reality TV Show

  • In a taxi where the driver is surprisingly your new boss and you are on a secret livestream

  • etc

In a stressful situation, if you have not practiced and have not studied, you will likely make a mistake. Negotiating requires that you not only sell the counteroffer but also your confidence that you can get that offer from a competitor.

UAE Salary Data

The Salary Survey is here.

We will be using UAE data. Specifically:

By the way, I checked a couple of other sources published to employers on recommended salaries they should offer, and they were much lower. It is clear that some of the data people are collecting is not being adjusted for mean/median-based corruption. In fact, in one data set the salary was lower than anyone I have ever encountered in the country they reported. It was off by $10,000 at least per year.

My work will help you gain serious $$$, support it, and read more. This post is going to give you tools to rapidly negotiate well above the cost of $50.00 a year. (Basically, this is free if you use the information to get a 1.5-2% raise.)
